Author’s Note: This story is based off of one of my friend’s life right now. It’s kind of like saying your best friend in the whole entire world leaves you for the popular crowd. It seems like you’re not good enough, you aren’t popular enough for her. She has to be popular and be liked so much that she forgets about you. She changes everything about her life. You miss her the way she was before she changed.
Dear Diary,
So I bought this diary today. I’m writing in this . . . Um, what am I to say? Let’s start with my BFF.
You know how you say people are down to Earth? Well, let’s put it this way: my friend is named Eagle. No joke. Her parents named her that. I know it’s weird, but it’s best not to mention it. I love her to death, but she’s not herself lately. She’s an eagle (hehe) in flight headed toward outer space! She’s hurtling toward Mars and almost to Jupiter! She’s getting farther and farther away from Earth. I guess what I’m saying is that she used to be down to Earth. Popularity and power changed her. Eagle used to text me all the time. Now she doesn’t. She mostly cares about the popular people now. Yep. Left me in the dust. Thanks.
I know people have been saying mean things about her . . . I tried to tell her. It made me super sad when she took it the wrong way. I didn’t want to mention any names when I told her because they’re my friends too. I talked to my mom (a.k.a. Jungala) about this whole thing. Jungala told me I shouldn’t have told Eagle because nothing would have started . . . What do you think, Diary?
Sincerely,
Dolphina (me)
P.S. Eagle is officially past Pluto. I’ve lost track, she’s floating in space. I miss her.
